I am really lucky, my networking doesn’t financially cost me that much to do when I am being asked to speak at an event, about the benefits of public speaking and how to get past the nerves and anxiety it can cause. My networking is FREE, well, that’s not entirely true, I am a paid-up member of a couple of networking organisations which I attend on a regular basis, but I have to tell you, one of the perks of being able to deliver a talk is that you get invited to networking events you otherwise may never attend.
When you network, trying to connect with those people who may need what you have to offer can be like looking for a needle in a hay stack, it’s chance, it’s luck and time consuming too. The wonderful thing that happens when you are the speaker at a network meeting is that people know straight away whether they are in need of your service/products and they gravitate towards you. YOU become magnetic. Of course in order to achieve this you require to have skill as a speaker, confidence, presence, volume, and the ability to deliver some worthwhile content that is of value to the audience.
